menu week 1

ok, yesterday we had left overs from the bbq, pork and the thai green curry sauce, yummy.

Today, a very simple mozarella (fresh from Italy this weekend), tomatoes, basil and olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Maybe fry some prawns to go with, and a glass of rose wine....apparently we do not have any rose wine, serious oversight, and so it was a glass of white wine.

Tomorrow we have the salmon, salad and new potatoes, and another glass of rose, once I have been shopping....

Thursday will be lasagna and salad, glass of red wine :D

Friday will depend on chalet plans.....maybe eating out?? Apparently no chalet as we have been invited by our sailing friends to crew for the bol d'Or - seriously exciting / scary. So Friday food should be good and wholesome, and need to prepare snacks for saturday...eee! :D

menu plan 11.05.2011

So far this week we have had breaded cod and salad, with a lemon oil and white balsamic vinegar dressing - thumbs up from Sarah. Ice cream, caramel choo choo.

Last night we had Pork roll stuffed with green and black olives (from Migros, not overly tasty) with fried courgettes. Melon for dessert.

Tonight will be chicken with sun dried tomatoes, feta and pasta salad. No dessert.

Tomorrow, thursday, no darts this week (actually waiting for the other teams to catch up missed games, before we know finally where we are), I am thinking omelette, ham and mushroom, with fresh bread and salad.

Friday may be a bbq night, otherwise something fishy, st jacques with pasta.

Voila, nice to get it planned, gives me something to aim for.

life and its moments

So christmas has passed with all its excitement of getting the offspring back to the family nest. 2010 was NOT a good year for air travel. It seemed that every time the kids travelled to or from university there was a problem. If not snow in Geneva grounding the flights, then an ash cloud from Iceland threatening the flights (we took photos of a dead geneva airport), and this time snow in England ( :o) which touched easyjet by closing heathrow and thus messing with its schedule. Liam arrived 17hrs late and Katie (eurostar via Paris) 41hrs late. James' bags arrived two hours late at the airport and one day late to the house.

With the new kitchen in the chalet, and the discovery of the carrefour supermarket in Avoriaz, which is sort of ski-in, ski-out, the preparation for christmas dinner was much calmer this year.

New year came and went with friends. I still have some missing moments from that evening.

Then the phone all that my father had collapsed at home and was in hospital. A quick trip to manchester to make sure all was ok.
